Peri-implantitis is a form of gum disease that affects the hard and soft tissues surrounding a dental implant. Characterized by inflammation, gum recession, and bone loss, peri-implantitis can result in dental implant failure as well as damage to the supporting structures of the adjacent teeth.
LAPIP, or Laser Assisted Peri-Implantitis Procedure, is a technologically advanced laser solution designed to eliminate the diseased and inflamed tissues associated with peri-implantitis, while leaving the surrounding healthy tissues unharmed and helping the supporting structures to regenerate. LAPIP utilizes the Periolase® MVP-7TM laser, which is the same laser used in LANAP treatments for periodontally involved natural teeth. Providing precise treatment with minimal discomfort or bleeding, both healing time and recovery time are much quicker with LAPIP than with conventional surgical approaches to care.
